Fourth baby since December left at Tree of Hope
The baby boy, only a few hours old, was found by a staff member of Monte Waldi Nursery School and Aftercare on February 17.
A newborn baby boy was found in the baby hatch of Tree of Hope in Edenvale on Wednesday afternoon.
The baby boy, only a few hours old, was found by a staff member of Monte Waldi Nursery School and Aftercare on February 17.
The organisation was alerted to movement in the baby hatch shortly after 2pm. The baby boy was assessed by Emergy-Med paramedic Rebecca Thompson and life-support paramedic James Mullaney.

It was determined the baby was in a healthy condition. One of the founders of Tree of Hope, Lelani le Roux, said this was the fourth baby abandoned in the hatch since the start of December.
She said as the child was abandoned, Edenvale SAPS and Child Welfare SA – Edenvale and Bedfordview were notified to assist with the matter and with the necessary paperwork.
