Awareness campaign against GBV

The SAPS was joined by leaders and parishioners from the Universal Church.

Members of the Bedfordview SAPS recently raised awareness of gender-based violence (GBV) in the precinct.

Various policing units joined forces to conduct the operation and were joined by leaders and parishioners from the Universal Church.

The operation involved police officers and civilians engaging with community members at several identified sites.

“We aimed to make members of the community aware of GBV in the Bedfordview area. Pamphlets were distributed to the community,” said Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Sgt Lillian Modiga.

She added that community members were made aware of how they could reach out to the SAPS to open a case or apply for a protection order.
