Bedfordview water project to run until June 2026
After years of trial and failure to launch, the Bedfordview Bulk Water Supply project finally kicks off and is set to run for the next couple of months.
Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys notified residents of the Bedfordview Bulk Water Supply project, which commenced on March 2.
The project, which involves a pipeline crossing the Bill Stewart Nature Reserve, is set to continue until June 30, 2026.
Humphreys said, “This essential project has been started many times over the last few years. However, we now seem to be making real progress.”

She added that residents along Kloof Road and some on Hillside, at the top of Pamin and Norman roads, as well as Hillcrest Avenue, would be affected by the activities.
The councillor shared a construction notice from Community Liaison Officer (CLO) David Ntjepela stating that the infrastructure project would be carried out on the aforementioned dates, subject to weather conditions and site progress.
Ntjepela said the scope of work will include trenching, pipe laying, excavation and compaction.
During this period, residents may experience increased noise levels, movement of construction vehicles and machinery and temporary minor vibrations.
