Edenvale Senior Citizens Society hosts festive lunch

"We hope all our old members and hopefully some new ones will come and join us at the community centre."

Edenvale Senior Citizens Society held its annual Christmas lunch early in December.

Described by committee members as a great success, the event was held at the Edenvale Community Centre.

Committee member Linda Ranwell said 117 members of Edenvale’s elderly community attended the lunch.

She said Ian Norje and his fiancée played lovely music, and their kitchen staff prepared a delicious three-course meal with the help of volunteers.

To add to the festive cheer of the Christmas lunch Emil Hummel dressed up as Father Christmas.

The elderly supported the raffle, where some members won lovely prizes.

“One of our members dressed up as Father Christmas and posed for pictures with the guests.

“We hope all our old members and hopefully some new ones will join us at the community centre,” said Linda.
