Leaking ablution block at taxi rank creates nightmare for Senderwood Shopping Centre
The waste and water from the rank runs through the centre’s parking lot and behind the businesses.
The water leak and sewage flow at the Senderwood taxi rank ablutions are causing havoc for the Senderwood Shopping Centre.
The taxi rank is next to the shopping centre, as is the ablution block.
The waste and water from the rank run through the centre’s parking lot and behind the businesses.

Jules Michaelides, the co-managing landlord, said the matter has persisted for over a year. However, in the past two months, it had worsened.

He said whenever they had a problem with the sewer, they unblocked it back to normal, but not this time.
“There are broken pipes, leaking taps, toilets and basins, and the sewer pipes run behind the centre.
“There’s constant unblocking of those sewers to make the water flow. However, in the last month or so, it deteriorated a lot.
“Sometimes we are forced to switch off the water,” stated Michaelides.
He said they had reported the matter to the city without any assistance.
“This is not appealing to the people who use the parking facilities. It is affecting my tenants and customers who use the parking facility.

“Also, the hygiene factor is not good for the taxi patrons.

“We have constantly reported to the metro, but nothing has been done.”
