Germiston Bedfordview SPCA needs new committee members
Germiston Bedfordview SPCA looking for skilled and passionate individuals to join their committee.
The Germiston Bedfordview SPCA (GBSPCA) urges individuals with a passion for animal welfare and a dedication to making a positive impact to join their management committee.
Jacques Peacock, a branch management committee member, said over the past two decades, the closure of some SPCAs has underscored the importance of community involvement.
Each SPCA requires an elected management committee comprised of local individuals who play a pivotal role in directing, planning, and organising initiatives, similar to the governing body of a school.

“The SPCA only has two elected committee members and requires at least five to remain compliant, constitutional and operational.
“By becoming a member of our committee, you become an integral part of our future and a solution to the challenges faced by animals in our community.
“Serving on a committee need not be daunting and does not involve work at an operational level,” said Peacock.
They require members with a diverse range of skills and expertise to join the committee.
“Whether a background in finance, management, marketing, fundraising, education or a deep-rooted passion for animal welfare, we welcome community members to contribute their talents towards our cause.

“More importantly, we are searching for individuals who resonate with the SPCA Statement of Policy and align with our commitment to advocating for the well-being and protection of animals in our community.
“It is crucial to note this position is voluntary, driven solely by the desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals,” added Peacock.
