R24 CLOSED at Edenvale for clean-up after multiple trucks crash

Motorists are advised that highways around Edenvale and Kempton Park will be severely affected this afternoon, March 20.

This follows the closure of the R24 towards Johannesburg due to a multi-truck crash.

The highway is expected to remain closed for most of the day to facilitate clean-up operations.

Law enforcement are also standing off at the scene following reports of looting.

Alternative routes:

Motorists heading towards Johannesburg on the R24 can take the Barbara Road off-ramp and drive through Meadowdale and Edenvale.

Alternatively, road users can make use of the N12 from Kempton Park and drive past Boksburg and Germiston to by-pass the crash scene.
