Edenvale Youth Desk supports Don Mattera Youth Centre with donations
Donating 60 beanies to children at Don Mattera Child and Youth Care Centre, the Edenvale CPYD and SAPS offered warmth and a reminder of community care.
To spread warmth this winter, Edenvale’s Crime Prevention Youth Desk (CPYD) recently donated 60 beanies to the Don Mattera Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC).
The donation aims to provide comfort and care to the children during the cold season.
Peter Rex, the chairperson of Edenvale’s CPYD, said the Edenvale SAPS, including Vispol commander Lieutenant Colonel Shadrack Magcuntsu and sector commanders, accompanied the desk members.

“Their support made the occasion even more meaningful. The Youth Desk thanks the SAPS for their ongoing collaboration and commitment to community well-being,” said Rex.
He said the donation provided essential winter wear and reminded the children that they are seen, valued and supported by the wider community.
“For many, small gestures like these leave a lasting emotional impact, fostering a sense of belonging and hope.”

The Edenvale CPYD remains committed to strengthening its partnership with the Don Mattera CYCC.
