SAPS Ekurhuleni celebrates excellence in policing at awards ceremony

The district’s finest officers and support staff were recognised for their commitment and achievements at a prestigious event attended by key stakeholders and partners.

To motivate and keep police officers focused and energised, SAPS Ekurhuleni District hosted an Excellence Awards Ceremony at Alberton Civic Centre on Friday evening.

Guests included the MMC S Masuku and director Xaba from the Department of Community Safety, provincial secretary of the CPF Board Pearl Manqele, EMPD deputy director Cebisile Ntombizodwa Ximba, the stakeholders: Metropolitan, Liquor Junction, 1 Track, Avbob, Prins Shazaad, Malas Tyres, Old Mutual, Arion Total, Full Circle Memories, SSG Security, Time of Care Trust, and Polmed.

Elsburg SAPS won the efficiency index best support of the year award alongside other stations, including the Bedfordview, Boksburg, Boksburg North, Ivory Park, Kwa-Thema, Tembisa South, and Zonkizizwe.

Awards were given to SAPS members and stakeholders in various categories for outstanding performance.

Officers are recognised across different disciplines.

The winners received trophies and certificates in the following categories:

• Admin employee of the year Level 1-4 – handyperson L D Mulaudzi.
• Admin employee of the year Level 5-7 – PAC P Ndlovu.
• Admin employee of the year Level 8-12 – Lieutenant Colonel Henstock.
