Several lanes of the N12 eastbound have been closed after a truck caught fire earlier today, triggering a major recovery operation and significant traffic delays.

According to authorities, the truck’s rear tyres ignited before being extinguished, but recovery teams were deployed to remove the vehicle and ensure the roadway was safe for motorists.

As a result, four lanes have been blocked to accommodate the operation, with only one lane currently open to traffic.

Drivers travelling along the route have been urged to expect severe congestion, use alternative routes where possible and proceed with caution in the affected area.
