Local vendors shine at Bedfordview Mother’s Day market

Community shows up in numbers for the Mother’s Day Market at Taratza on Kloof.

Taratza on Kloof hosted a Mother’s Day market on May 2.

Event organiser Stephanie Neofitou said the objective of the event was to create a beautiful market for the community, bring people together to support local vendors, and raise awareness of the new restaurant Taratza in Bedfordview.

“It was just for exposure for the restaurant and all the local vendors. We did it a week before Mother’s Day so that all the women can spoil their moms.

“If we did it on the actual Mother’s Day weekend, they would have probably already bought stuff for their moms,” said Neofitou.

She said it was also a family-friendly event, with delicious food. Patrons could enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as well as do some shopping.

“There were activities for children. Neofitou reflected, “The community has been so incredible. The turnout was even better than I imagined.”
