In defence of a hard-working person

Basically this rant is to the person who found Dutch courage on a phone camera and through a keyboard.

EDITOR – I wish to reply to the letter of the urinating officer in Edenvale, published online recently.

This is my rant to the thoughtless person who has no idea what a portaloo smells like, what it’s like to be a security guard trying to provide for your family and what it’s like to lose a job over someone who has no clue of how to empathise or approach a person face to face.

It is ridiculous. You probably have lovely toilet facilities at your offices but have nothing better to do than look down your noses at those with jobs that you would not dare live an hour of.

Have you smelt a portaloo?

If you are so passionate I dare you to send your innocent children outside for however long a shift lasts in this cold and only use the hardly-humane portaloo.

Taking a photo of someone urinating is sick and a violation of their privacy.

I’m pretty sure the guy wasn’t standing there boastfully in all his glory waiting to offer a glance to anyone who smiled at him,

V – EDENVALE.
