Man commended for speaking out about cops

“It is enough for evil to succeed, that good men do nothing."

EDITOR – Congratulations to “John Phillip” on having the courage to try to bring the corrupt police who harassed him, to book.

I know of two other separate incidents which occurred in November 2016, elderly people were involved in both cases.

The elderly people were so traumatised by the police actions and threats that they paid the bribes (R1000 in one case) despite being innocent, simply because they were so intimidated.

They were subsequently too afraid of a backlash if they reported the incidents at the police station, as that would have meant revealing their identities and addresses.

Despite our urgings, they refused to take it further.

When one is in such a situation, phone the Johannesburg anti-corruption number 0800 203 712 and they will send someone to the scene.
