Bedfordview Rebels defeat RB Boys
Captain of the Bedfordview rebels, Warren Openshaw said, “The game didn’t go too badly. We restricted them quite nicely to 118. Now we are looking at trying to win the league championship this season. The team has been gelling very well and I really think we can make it and rank very high, if not the top spot.”
The Bedfordview Rebels won the match, scoring 119 in 16 overs.
The Bedfordview Rebels took on the RB Boys at Jeppe Quondom on Saturday, January 25, in the next instalment of the Bedfordview Last Man Stands (LMS) league.
The match was umpired by Craig Fox the RB Boys decided to bat first.
RB Boys’ Aki Kardamilakis was the best performing batsman, managing 40 runs from 27 balls before being caught. The RB Boys ended with a final score of 118 for seven after 20 overs.
Despite starting off with a duck, Bedfordview Rebels managed to score 119 for the loss of three wickets after only 16 overs, winning the match.
Michael Lowe helped ensure his team’s victory with a man-of-the-match performance of 51 runs not out from 23 balls.

RB Boys’ captain, Faraz Siddiqui said, “We are doing well so far this season. Last season we ended third. This season we have managed to maintain a position within the first four, however our previous two games have not been as great and we’ve fallen to seventh. We are now looking to break back into the top three. This has been our second season in the LMS competition and so far we have enjoyed the format because of its fast pace.”
