Rebels win by 73 runs

The Last Man Stands tournament (LMS) Division two side Bedfordview Rebels continued their top form and maintained their number one position on the log by beating RB Cricketers by 73 runs.

The Bedfordview Rebels elected to bat first when the match took place at the Modderfontein Sports Grounds on Sunday, August 3.

The Bedfordview Rebels set the tone of the match from the start by making quick runs and scoring boundaries. Bedfordview Rebels player, Warron Openshaw, made 31 runs from 34 balls.

Jeremy Newton scored 21 runs from 16 balls for the Bedfordview Rebels. Overall, the Bedfordview Rebels ended with a score of 140 for three wickets after 20 overs.

With a score of 140 to chase, the RB Cricketers were always on the back-foot. Batsman Kamran Zaki was RB Cricketers’ standout player, falling short of the half century mark after he scored 40 runs from 27 balls.
