KENSINGTON: Joburg East Football Association had its first official tournament on August 5 at Rhodes Park.

In the finals, the u-11 Sikelela United FC team played against Naughty Boys FC.
Sikelela United emerged victorious, with a final score of 4-3 after penalties.
Lungelo Mpungose from Sikelela was named Man of the Match.
“I’m happy we won and proud of my team. We have players who are very dedicated and who are always at practice and never miss a day.
“They need this to ensure that their talent is noticed. I’m also very proud of Lungelo,” said Festival Sithole, the coach for Sikela United.
In the u-13 division, Birmingham FC collected the silverware (STET) as they beat Ocean FC 2-0.
Aubrey Motshwane, who is a coach and a committee member of JEFA, said he is proud to see the tournament being a success.
“I did not think it will grow to the point where we can reward the players. This is a sign of more good things to come,” concluded Motshwane.
