Teams hone their skills for 2018 season
Soccer teams getting ready for the opening of the league.
Even with the Joburg East Football Association (Jefa) League closed, some teams are not taking it easy as they prepare themselves for the opening of the 2018 season.
“Football has no vacation. As a player, you must always be fit and ready for the game,” said Ocean FC coach Aubrey Motshwane.
Ocean FC played a friendly match against Inner City Football Club at Rhodes Park recently.
“We are getting ready for the Jefa League. Most teams went on holiday but my boys have been committed to coming to training even during the holidays.
“That will be an advantage for us because most teams will be out of shape at the start of the new season,” said Motshwane.
Jefa League will officially open on February 3.
Teams are still encouraged to register.
