2019 Gauteng East Interprovincial tennis u-13 SA Primary Schools Tournament

Owethu Makhanya was selected for the SA B team.

The 2019 Gauteng East Interprovincial tennis teams recently took part in the South African Schools Tennis Tournament.

SA Primary Schools u-13 tournament took place in Bloemfontein from March 15-19.

The Gauteng East team placed ninth out of 16 teams.

Danielle Chapman and Boitshepo Maake were selected for the SA A team.

Owethu Makhanya was selected for the SA B team.

The following players represented Bedfordview/Edenvale schools:

• Owethu Makhanya, Tayla Wilmot and Tanika Pananio from St Andrew’s School for Girls.

• Erin Mckenzie, Tyrah Cook and Jamie McKenzie from Holy Rosary School.

• Cameron Christie from Edenvale High School.

• Sophia Koen, who is homeschooled in Edenvale.

Players who were selected to represent Gauteng East u-13 team:

• Danielle Chapman – Laerskool Selection Park

• Adoné Kidson – Laerskool Christiaan Beyers

• Zander de Jager – Laerskool Oosterkruin Primary

• Jayden Rooskrantz – Colin Mann Primary School

• Pierre Badenhorst – Laerskool Randhart

• Arron van Eck – Ashton International College

• Juan-Pierre du Plessis – Laerskool Impala

The boys’ team will be managed by Niel Badenhorst and the girls’ team by coach Desiré Wilson.
