Fausto on his way to becoming world champion
Fausto has his sights set on making the SA team and earning his Springbok colours.
At the tender age of 13 Fausto Amaru is well on his way to becoming a world champion in martial arts.
In 2017 the rising star qualified for his Springbok colours in the world championships where he earned two bronze medals and one silver medal.

Fausto currently holds his Gauteng B team colours that he earned in 2018.
He also won medals in the weapons division, kumite fighting, traditional kata and bronze for continuous fighting in 2019.
The Modderfontein Academy learner started at Tebbutts Martial Arts Academy, which is part of NMA Iska organisation, three years ago.
They do grading katas, traditional weapons, creative weapons, kickboxing, and self-defence.
Fausto’s mother Yvette said bullying led him to start martial arts to learn to stand up for himself and get more confidence.
He also played for an Italian soccer club, the Easterners and Bryanston Primary School before he went to Modderfontein Academy.
Currently Fausto is practising his funakhosi karate and double sword kata.
Fausto double graded twice in 2017 when he started and in 2018 he received a purple belt.
