Eagles bag two more wins

The SuperSport Wheelchair Basketball League at Mandeville Indoor Sports Centre in Bez Valley has entered its second round and the home team, Diesel Electric Services Eagles, are working hard in securing a place in the top four.

The Eagles played two games on the weekend of September 28 and 29 and made sure they secure wins on both days.

The Saturday game against Buffalo City Suns was tightly contested with Buffalos leading 15-13 after the first quarter.
The Eagles found their form and bounced back finishing the second quarter in the lead with 28-25.
After the second half the Eagles were soaring, not giving the Buffalos little chance to catch up on the scoreboard.
By the end of the third quarter the local team was leading 48-29 and they took the win with 62-45.
The best performance during the game was from Eagles’ captain Daniel Nyuke who contributed 21 points in the game.
Sunday’s game saw the locals go up against Pretoria Wolverines.
The Eagles started off strong, dominating the match from the first quarter.
The Eagles were too strong for the Wolverines as they made sure to collect points in every quarter.
The Wolverines tried to catch up, but they could not keep up with the Eagles.
The game ended with Eagles beating the Wolverines 79-25.
The best performance came from Kabelo Nkoana who contributed 20 of the 79 points.
Eagle’s team manager Fred Ganyaupfu said he is proud of the team’s performance.
“The team is working hard in making sure we win our games. Our goal is to win the league,” said Fred.
“Having our sponsor Diesel Electric Services team coming to our games means a lot to us as the team and we appreciate their support.”
“Having supporters cheering us on also makes a huge difference and gives us an extra boost to go forth and do our best,” said Fred.
