Chalmers co-produces Sing for Joy concert
Mrs Janet Chalmers, a music director at St Benedict’s College in Bedfordview, will be co-producing and conducting the Sing for Joy concert.
The Sing for Joy concert will be taking place at the St Dunstan’s Cathedral in Benoni on May 23 at 3.30pm and 6.30pm.
Mrs Chalmers, who after having been assistant director of music at St Andrew’s School for Girls for just over 21 years, is also head of music at St Benedict’s College, where she is now in her fifth year.
The concert will once again be produced and directed by Mr Malcolm and Janet Chalmers.
Mr Chalmers will be conducting and Mrs Chalmers will do many of the arrangements as well as play the organ.
The Sing for Joy Pack Up Your Troubles concert promises to be an enjoyable concert with a choir of approximately 80 members
Mrs Chalmers is an Honours Music graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand School of Music, where she majored in piano and flute.
When not involved in school life, Ms Chalmers is the director of Music at St Boniface Church in Germiston.
She also co-authored the music section of the Grade 8 Creative Arts textbook for Heinemann and she accompanies the Sing for Joy choir.
