Brightbridge Academy celebrates the ‘Right’ way
The event was concluded with a hotdog braai and learners helped themselves to some candy-floss ice-cream.
In honour of Human Rights Day (March 21), staff and learners at Bright Bridge Academy put books and pencils aside for a day of fun festivities on March 19.
The celebration kicked off with grades four and five learners making pancakes for breakfast.
Following this, learners participated in a gumboot dancing session, which emulated how miners used to communicate in the apartheid era.
The event was concluded with a hotdog braai and learners helped themselves to some candy-floss ice-cream.
The head of the campus, Chilidi Venter, said: “We believe that every child has a right to education. Therefore, we adapt our educational ways in creative lessons.
“The colour festival is symbolic for us because it represents our rainbow nation as displayed in our school emblem. It embraces our racial, cultural and religious differences and our human rights.”
