Car struck by train: driver killed

One person was killed when a car was struck by a train along a section of railway line, near the Schapensrust Train Station, in Brenthurst this morning (Friday).

It is believed that the car’s driver drove onto the track in front of the oncoming train.

The car burst into flames shortly after impact.

Police, firefighters and other emergency services officials are currently on the scene.

The identity of the driver is not yet known and more information will follow soon.
