Project helps out drought-stricken areas

Community members working together to make a difference.

Brakpan residents, businesses, churches and schools have made a contribution towards helping communities affected by the drought.

The ‘Oos Rand Staan Saam’ project was started a couple of weeks ago with hundreds of East Rand community members working together to make a difference.

They have supplied areas such as Winberg, Aliwal North, Verkeersdraai and Senekal with thousands of litres of water and supplies.

Pupils from Laerskool Dalview, Laerskool Môrewag, Laerskool Die Arend, Hoërskool Stoffberg, Brakpan Primary School and Felicitas School all made generous contributions and sent letters of hope to the farmers.
