New Brakpan library almost ready to open its doors

"We are currently busy moving into the new library."

Local bookworms won’t have to wait too much longer to enjoy the facilities of the new Brakpan Library.

The library, situated on the premises of the Brakpan Civic Centre at the corner of Escombe Avenue and Elliot Street, is scheduled to open at the end of the month.

“We are currently busy moving into the new library and we should be fully operational by the end of June,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

“The existing library will be used for office space for Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality staff.”
