The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (December 11 to 12):

Cases reported:

• Residential burglary: 2
• Crimen injuria: 1
• Reckless and negligent driving: 2
• Inquest: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Theft: 5
• Common assault: 4
• Theft of motor vehicle: 2
• Dealing in drugs: 1
• Business robbery: 1

Arrests:

• Theft: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Common robbery: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• Shoplifting: 1

Business robbery:

• Three men robbed a Voortrekker Road shop last night (Monday).

The trio entered the store at about 8pm and threatened the owner and his brother with a gun.

The victims were taken to the back of the shop where their hands and feet were tied with cables.

Cigarettes, two cellphones, CCTV equipment and a wristwatch were stolen.

Burglary:

• Daisy Avenue in Leachville.

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: A TV.

• Tinker Road in Brenthurst.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: Cash, two DVD players, a two-plate stove and a tool box.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white BMW 3 Series was stolen from an address along Railway Street on Saturday.

• A white Toyota Tazz was recovered in Germiston after it was stolen from the corner of Van Zyl and Joubert
streets, in Brenthurst, last night.
