The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (September 4 to 5):

Cases reported:

• Tampering with infrastructure: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• Theft: 3
• Possession of stolen property: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Common robbery: 1 (Springs case)
• Residential burglary: 2
• Contempt of court: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1

Arrests:

• Rape: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Possession of stolen motor vehicle: 1

Business robbery:

• A security guard was shot at during a robbery at a company along Lemmer Road in Vulcania yesterday (Tuesday).

The robbers, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted the guard as he was patrolling the premises at about 2.15am.

He was taken to the guardroom where the robbers demanded money.

The gunman fired one shot at the guard, which missed its target.

They fled with the guard’s cellphone.

Burglary:

• Dabchick Street, Dalpark.

The home was burgled on Monday.

Stolen: TVs, a laptop and hard drive.

• Prince George Avenue, Brenthurst.

The break-in took place on Monday.

Stolen: A geyser, stepladder and garden tap.
