Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – An attempted break-in was reported at an address along Queen Avenue.

The would-be burglar was attempting to force open the front door when the homeowner caught him in the act.

The suspect, who was found in possession of a knife and screwdriver, was arrested.

• Saturday – A home in Hospital Road, Brakpan North, was burgled of a TV, sound system and weed eater.

* TVs, speakers, a cellphone, wristwatch and other valuables were stolen from a residence in Bekker Road, Dalview.

* A car parked at the corner of Cavendish Street and Victoria Avenue was broken into and its radio was stolen.

* Three men robbed a Victoria Avenue gambling business at 10.40pm.

The robbers threatened a female cashier with a gun and fled with a large sum of money.

• Sunday – A blue Nissan Sentra was stolen from Jones Street.

* Jewellery, a gaming console, cellphone and computer tower were stolen from a home along Gladstone Avenue.

• Theft: 1
