The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (March 28 to 29):

Cases reported:

• Business burglary: 1
• Residential burglary: 1
• House robbery: 1
• Sexual assault: 1
• Shoplifting: 2
• Theft: 1

Arrests:

• Housebreaking and theft: 1
• Theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 2

House robbery:

• A 25-year-old Withok Estates man sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and hand during a robbery in his home yesterday morning (Thursday).

An unknown number of intruders gained access to the Mouton Street residence at about 4.10am.

The victim’s mother was awakened by a gunshot and heard her son screaming, warning her to stay in her room.

A TV and kitchen appliances were stolen.

Burglary:

• Hoy Avenue, Dalview (business).

The burglary took place on Monday.

Stolen: Four fridges, two bicycles, a compressor and other valuables.

• Afrikaner Road, Dalview.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: A DVD player, a sound system, jewellery and other household items.
