Company reaches out to the needy on Mandela Day
About 150 people were fed at The Love Ones of God.
Saturday saw the 11th celebration of International Mandela Day, a day usually marked by performing 67 minutes of service in the community.
Although the need in the country and the town is bigger than ever, those who chose to give their time had to make some adjustments due to Covid-19 restrictions.
One such company is Accident Panel and Paint, a female-owned panel beating business in town.
Owner of the business Renika Rungan took over the company after her husband Raven passed away in 2015.

In honour of Nelson Mandela’s birthday, Renika has adopted the legacy left behind by her late husband, to feed the needy and destitute.
Staff of the company undertook the task of preparing soup and bread for two homes in Brakpan.
About 150 people were fed at The Love Ones of God in Sherwood Gardens and 20 residents at Mother’s Nest in Brenthurst also received a meal.
Renika has committed to making this an annual feeding to needy organisations in the Brakpan area.
“We are dedicated to making a difference in our community,” she said.
