
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – A TV was stolen during a break-in at a home in Gloucester Street, Kenleaf.
• Saturday – A home in Hospital Road, Brakpan North, was burgled of a gaming console and a wristwatch.
* A business in Fifth Road, Witpoortjie, was robbed by four balaclava-clad robbers.
After the alarm was triggered at 10.10pm, two security guards set off to conduct patrols around the premises but returned to the guard room after finding nothing suspicious.
A short while later they were confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, who instructed them to keep quiet.
The guards were searched and one of them was robbed of his hand radio, a set of gate keys and a panic button.
They were then taken to a shed where two other gunmen were waiting.
Four other people on the premises were also rounded up and brought to the shed.

One of the security guards was then taken back to the guard room and witnessed one of the robbers opening the gate.
An eight-ton truck then drove in and the robbers drained diesel from a tank on the premises.
After the truck left, the security guard was taken back to the shed, where he was tied up.
The robbers then locked the shed door and fled.
The value of the diesel and other stolen goods is R 68 000.
• Sunday – A woman was robbed of her cellphone while walking along Rangeview Road in Dalpark.
The incident took place at around 4pm when a young man snatched the phone from the victim’s hand and ran off.
