The Harvest NPO is collecting funds to purchase as many space blankets as possible to distribute to those in need amid the biting winter cold.
“We have many people who sleep on the streets of Brakpan, especially the elderly,” said NPO founder Yakima Waner.
“A donation of R50 today to The Harvest can save a person’s life.”
Commonly called space blankets, emergency blankets are more effective than normal blankets and can help retain up to 90% of body heat.
