Last year was a good one for the Dan Triangle Karate Club.
The local club saw members Christopher Thela and Stephanie Watt win medals at the KWF World Championships in Japan.
Thela won a second consecutive gold medal for kumite (fighting) while Watt brought home bronze for the kata.
Earlier in the year the club’s Sensei Chris Anthony was awarded his seventh dan black belt.
The club is now opening for 2024 as they look to build on last year’s success.
“We are open for 2024 and any new members are welcome to join us,” said Anthony.
They held a prize-giving at the end of last year and there were prizes for best class attendance, most improved karateka, dedication and most motivated students of the year.
