San Michele staff take care of their own mental health on World Mental Health Day

The theme for the year is "mental health in the workplace," and San Michele took that to heart to spoil their staff.

The San Michele Home for intellectually and physically disabled adults celebrated their staff on October 10, by looking out for their mental health on World Mental Health Day.

When caring for disabled adult patients, to provide good care and support staff need to be at their best and they also deserve to take care of their own mental health.

“Our matron Sonja Raman is on another level,” explained Ralph Raman, Sonja’s husband.

“With the worldwide theme of mental health in the workplace in mind, she decided to spoil the staff along with occupational therapist Amanda Koopman.”

The two gave staff gift packs and cupcakes and had a good time together.

“Sometimes we tend to forget that our staff need pampering too,” Sonja explained.
