Netball teams battle in friendlies

The club looks forward to playing all the teams again next year.

The Wings and the Black Stars battle it out in the high temperatures.

The Phoenix Netball Club held its summer friendly tournament, with 24 teams competing.

While there were seniors, legends and mixed teams playing, the tournament wasn’t divided into these categories because teams from all the leagues played against each other.

The clubs were Phoenix, the Blue Dolphins, the Reedville Angels, the Cardiff Girls, the SOB from Johannesburg, the Black Stars, the Eagles, The Wings, the Duty Dragons, Impala, Ulinda, the Highlanders, the Jalapeno Hotties and the Sweat Heart Netball Club.

“Despite the sweltering heat, everyone played against everyone and had a blast. We look forward to seeing them all again in 2025 and thank them for their support,” said Phoenix chairperson Angelique van der Merwe.
