Brakpan SPCA launches weekly outreach campaign

The society will begin weekly community visits and is calling for donations to help support the programme.

The Brakpan SPCA will launch a new outreach campaign on August 12, aimed at reaching animals in need within the community.

As part of the initiative, the SPCA’s office will close at 12:00 every Wednesday to allow office staff to assist the inspectorate team with welfare checks, food distribution and community support.

The society is appealing for donations of tick and flea powder suitable for cats and dogs, as well as new or used collars and leads in working condition.

The SPCA is also seeking sponsorship or donations towards the replacement of its branded gazebo, which collapsed after more than a decade of use.

The gazebo is used to provide shelter for staff and animals during outreach events.

The society will share updated wish lists as the project develops and plans to introduce sterilisation requests once community needs have been assessed.

Donations can be dropped off at the SPCA, which is situated at 96 Denne Road in Witpoort. Financial donations are also welcome.
