Annual Darts Association golf day drives community support

The Ekurhuleni East Darts Association's annual fundraising golf day at Royal Oak Country Club proved a major success, thanks to dedicated organisers, generous sponsors, and enthusiastic participants.

The Ekurhuleni East Darts Association hosted its annual fundraising golf day recently at the Royal Oak Country Club in Brakpan.

This year’s golf day was truly one for the books, made possible through the outstanding dedication, hard work, and commitment of organisers Chris Minnie and Quintin Marais, whose efforts ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for all involved.

“The association extends heartfelt gratitude to its generous sponsors, whose contributions played a vital role in the event’s success,” said treasurer Nadine Ferreira.

A special thanks goes to Strubenvale Pick n Pay, Sollys Auto Spares, Ultra Liquors Strubenvale, SUMP, Andrew’s Tools and Hardware, Hotpot Autopaints, Wazz Up Panelbeaters, Captain’s Auto, Butterfly Stationery, Halewood, and all the Ekurhuleni East Darts players who contributed towards making the day such a success.

“Appreciation is also extended to the businesses that sponsored holes on the day, namely Isuzu East Rand, Usizo Security, The Deck Pub & Restaurant, JTI Mining Equipment, BMA OHS Training & Education, and BeeGee Electrical.

“Your valued support greatly enhanced the overall experience,” said Ferreira.

“The day saw great participation both on and off the course, with lucky draws adding an extra element of excitement and enjoyment throughout the event,” she continued.

Outstanding performances on the course were recognised with prizes awarded as follows:

  • First place: Edward Steenkamp.
  • Second place: Mossie Smit.
  • Third place: Pierre Smit.
  • Longest drive: Dylan Minnie.
  • Closest to the pin: Anrich Basson.
  • Longest day on the course: Herman Waltman.
  • Raffle winner: Jeff Westley.

In addition, several exciting prizes were auctioned off to the highest bidders, and the association extends its sincere thanks to all who participated and supported these initiatives.
