Success for Bassonia JKA students at SA JKA Gauteng Champs

Bassonia JKA karateka shine at the SA JKA Gauteng Champsionships, bringing home a total of 49 medals.

Forty-four students from Bassonia JKA were recently chosen to represent the Karate Syndicate at the prestigious SA JKA Gauteng Championships.

Their performance at the event was nothing short of outstanding as they clinched a total of 49 medals, comprising 18 gold, 18 silver, and 13 bronze.

The Bassonia JKA students not only dominated the medal standings but also secured an impressive 23 additional qualifications, bringing the total number of kata and kumite competitors to 73.

Following their exceptional showing at the Gauteng Championships, the medal winners and qualifiers have earned the honour of representing SA JKA Gauteng at the upcoming SA JKA Nationals in May.

This opportunity not only recognises their achievements but also underscores their collective strength as a team. Moreover, their success at the regional level will be rewarded with the prestigious SA JKA Gauteng Regional Colours.
