Animal Anti-Cruelty League Johannesburg hit by robbery

Carren Nickloes has confirmed that a case of robbery was opened at the Moffat View Police Station on Wednesday, October 31.

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League Johannesburg hospital was broken into and robbed of computer equipment, electronic till and other items with an estimated cost at over R20 000 on October 30, at 3am.

According to Carren Nickloes, Marketing Manager for the Non-profit organisation, the robbers entered the premises by breaking through the perimeter prefab wall. After ripping out security bars and the window in the men’s bathroom, the robbers realized they were in the wrong part of the building.

“They then moved to the next window and proceeded to take out the security bars and window gaining access into the cash office,” said Nickloes

She added that “We will now need to replace stolen items and repair the building structure at a cost that has not been budgeted for, damage to the premises is extensive, including our perimeter wall, windows and security bars”.

Carren Nickloes has confirmed that a case of robbery was opened at the Moffat View Police Station on Wednesday, October 31.

“To a non-profit welfare organization such as ours – reliant entirely on the generosity and goodwill of the animal-loving public, it’s tough enough trying to stretch our limited budget far enough to take care of ever-increasing animal welfare needs. We just cannot afford this type of setback.”
