GRADE 10 Life Science learners from Abbotts College Johannesburg South, recently enjoyed a live Skype call with Beth Demas, a marine biologist with the South Carolina Aquarium in the USA.
The learners Life Science teacher, Genevieve Strauss, organised this for them and they found the Skype call very interesting, as Beth showed the learners around the aquarium and rehab centre, mainly focusing on plastic pollution and its negative side effects.
The Grade 10 learners had a chance to see how surgery took place on a sea turtle whose intestines were filled with plastic.
