Stolen vehicle recovered

According to the owner, he left his Fortuner on the side of the road, went cycling and when he come back his Fortuna was nowhere to be found.

A silver Toyota Fortuner stolen in Basonia was found at Mishoeshoe Factory with all parts stripped. Some of the parts were found on the scene.

Katlehong North police received a call from radio control, with Rentak tracker helicopter flying to the scene and EMPD Swat Unit assisted with backup. The vehicle was recovered while the owner was opening a case of theft at Mondeor SAPS.

According to the owner, he left his Fortuner on the side of the road, went cycling and when he come back the vehicle was gone.

Capt Mega Ndobe, spokesperson for Katlehong North SAPS, said: “Police arrested four suspects and brought them in for questioning. Some of the parts found next to the engine of the Fortuner belonged to a Nissan double cab bakkie.

“The owner of the factory where some car parts were found could not be found.”
