Johannesburg Flying Squad arrest eight suspects for different crimes

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested eight suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg, recovered five vehicles and four firearms with ammunition from August 13 to 16.

Among the eight suspects arrested, four were for attempted murder and four for possession of drugs.

Four firearms recovered was a 9mm Glock pistol and three 9mm CZ with ammunition and were booked at SAP 13.

Among the vehicles recovered was a silver Toyota Etios, a white Toyota Etios and a white Toyota Hi-Ace that were stolen, a white Hyundai H100 and a white Isuzu KB bakkie that were hijacked from the owners.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communications officer Raymond Sambo said the investigation continues in all cases and working together with the community led to these recoveries.

“SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, people may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“The eight suspects aged between 28 and 42 appeared in different magistrate’s courts facing charges of attempted murder and possession of drugs,” he said.
