Deokaran murder accused bail hearing postponed to November 30 due to no water at the court.

The bail hearing of the six accused of murdering health department official Babita Deokaran on August 23 has been postponed to November 30.

The postponement is due to the court being without water. The matter was heard at the Johannesburg Central Magistrate’s Court.

Phakamani Hadebe, Zitha Radebe, Nhlango Ndlovu, Sanele Mbele, Siphakanyiswa Dladla and Simphiwe Mazibuko stand accused of murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and attempted murder.

These charges relate to the death of Deokaran, who was shot and killed in her car outside of her residence in Winchester Hills. The charge of attempted murder pertains to the attempted murder of Deokaran’s domestic worker, who was in the car at the time of the shooting.
