
Johannesburg Flying Squad (JFS) members arrested five suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg and recovered two vehicles and one unlicensed firearm with ammunition from April 22 to 25.
Among the suspects arrested, two were arrested for robbery common, one for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and two for possession of drugs.
A white Ford Fiesta that was hijacked from the owner and a white Toyota RunX that was stolen were recovered.
One firearm, a 9mm A&K USP pistol, with ammunition was recovered and booked at SAP 13.
Johannesburg Flying Squad communications officer SPO Raymond Sambo said investigation continues in all cases and working with the community led to these recoveries.
“SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, people may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.
“The five suspects appeared in different magistrate’s courts to face charges of robbery common, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of drugs,” he said.
