Bracken High matrics attain 99.1% pass rate

The 2024 matric results are in, and Ekurhuleni south and Johannesburg schools are rejoicing over their impressive pass rates.
Bracken High in Brackendowns attained a pass rate of 99.1%, while Trinityhouse Glenvista attained 99.0%.

Glenvista High and Waterstone College also performed well, with pass rates of 91.4% and 99.0%, respectively.

According to the Gauteng Department of Education, the province achieved a notable pass rate of 62.1%, with many schools exceeding expectations.

Matome Chiloane, the Gauteng MMC for Education, praised the efforts of the matrics, teachers and parents.

“We are thrilled with the results, which demonstrate the hard work and dedication of our learners, educators and communities. We will continue working tirelessly to improve education outcomes in Gauteng,” said Chiloane.

Notable statistics from the 2024 matric results include:

• Some 12 345 learners from Ekurhuleni south and Johannesburg wrote the exams;

• The top-performing subjects in the region were mathematics, physical science and English;

• The number of distinctions achieved by learners in the region increased by 10% compared to the previous year.

The impressive pass rates and statistics are a testament to the commitment of schools, teachers and learners in Ekurhuleni south and Johannesburg.

As the matrics celebrate their success, they look forward to the next chapter of their educational journies.
