Lumu Community Based Organisation launches winter donation drive

The Lumu Community Based Organisation is appealing to the public to donate winter clothing, shoes, blankets and jackets to help keep orphaned and vulnerable children warm during the cold winter months

Lumu Community Based Organisation is calling on community members, businesses and donors to support its Winter Donations Drive aimed at helping vulnerable children stay warm this season.

The registered NPO, based in Johannesburg South, works tirelessly to uplift disadvantaged and suffering children through a variety of community programs focused on education, care and sustainable livelihoods.

The organisation is currently requesting donations of winter clothes, jackets, shoes, blankets and other warm essentials for orphaned and vulnerable children in the community.

According to the organisation, every donation can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life by bringing warmth, comfort and hope during the harsh winter months.

Lumu runs a nine-point cause programme designed to support children and families in need. Some of its key initiatives include Teach a Child, Feed a Child, Groom a Talent and the Girls Sanitary Pads project, all aimed at improving the lives and futures of vulnerable children.

The community support plays a vital role in helping them continue their work and reach more children in need.

Those interested in making a contribution can contact 011 436 9474 or 073 444 1337.
