Tee off for Stepping Stone Hospice
The hospice faces a mammoth task this year as it tries to raise the remaining funds needed to extend the existing in-patient unit in New Market Park

STEPPING Stone Hospice & Care Services will be hosting their second annual fundraising golf day on March 16 at Reading Country Club.
The hospice faces a mammoth task this year as it tries to raise the remaining funds needed to extend the existing in-patient unit in New Market Park by a further 12 rooms in order to cope with the increasing need for palliative care in our communities. The golf day is one of the fundraising events planned for the year to boost the “Help us Build, Brick by Brick Fund”.
“We are looking for players, hole sponsors as well as prize donations,” says organiser and Stepping Stone fundraising manager, Marietjie Tame. A seasoned golfer herself, she promises a great day on the course in aid of a very worthy cause.
The format will be Betterball Stableford and the cost is R500 per player (R2 000 per four-ball). Hole sponsorship ranges from R2 000 to R5 000. If you would like to donate prizes for the event, please note that two of the same prizes will be required to fall in line with the format of the day.
“We’re asking all the golfers out there to support us,” says Marietjie, adding that as an NPO (non-profit organisation), Stepping Stone Hospice is to a large degree financially dependent on the generosity of individuals and the business fraternity to enable them to continue with the vital work they do.
