Saints Festival 2026 kicks off with packed programme

St Stithians College throws open its gates today for the start of the 2026 Saints Sports Festival, with six sporting codes taking centre stage across a full day of inter-schools competition.

Football is first off the mark at 11:30, when Thandulwazi Academy face Crawford International Lonehill on Jamieson Field 1, and Curro Edenvale High School take on the Saints Festival Girls’ Team next door.

  • The hosts’ own sides follow at 12:40, with St Stithians Boys’ College meeting St Benedict’s College and St Stithians Girls’ College squaring off against Springfield Convent. Further rounds continue through the afternoon on both fields.
  • Squash begins even earlier, at 11:00, with Saints Boys’ College fielding A and B teams alongside clashes involving St Stithians Girls’ College, St Andrew’s School for Girls, Hoërskool Zwartkop, and Jeppe High School for Boys.
  • Tennis gets going at noon, headlined by St Stithians Boys’ College versus St Benedict’s College, while Grey College, from Bloemfontein, faces Trinityhouse HS Randpark Ridge. Clifton School and Michaelhouse are also in the draw.
  • Netball opens at 14:00, but the code’s early highlight comes at noon, a coaching clinic led by former Proteas captain Bongi Msomi and the Baby Proteas. St John’s DSG, St Peter’s College, and The King’s College are among the early participants.
  • Hockey arrives later in the afternoon, with the Saints Girls Festival Team facing Ashton College Girls at 14:15 on the Blue Astro. The evening session then raises the stakes, with St Stithians BC First Team taking on Reddam Constantia, and St Stithians GC First Team facing Ashton College Girls.

A group photo across codes is scheduled for 16:15 at Baytopp Field.

Rugby sits out Wednesday’s competition, with its group photo also at 16:15 and matches to follow on Thursday, Saturday, and Monday. Full fixtures are available on the Saints Festival app.
