Alberton’s Brandon Thysse retains his titles

Thysse's technical mastery secures victory over Knapp in the South African boxing classic.

Alberton boxing sensation Brandon Thysse cemented his status as a force to be reckoned with in South African boxing after retaining his Junior Middleweight and WBA Africa titles with a resounding victory over Roarke Knapp.

Thysse and Knapp went toe-to-toe at the Sole Survivor Tournament held at Emperors Palace.

The calculated brawler’s perfectly executed left hook to the body in round nine proved too much for Knapp, who sank to his knees, unable to continue.

The fight was a display of technical mastery from both boxers, who were both aggressive yet calculated during the fight.

Having fought one another twice before, they knew each other well. The match was fast-paced, with both fighters throwing combinations.

Thysse had a more tactical approach, as he focused on returning to basics and fighting behind the jab.
This strategy paid off, as Thysse showcased his technical skills and won the bout.

The win earns Thysse R720 000 and solidifies his position as one of South Africa’s top boxers.

With victories over Shervantaigh Koppman and Knapp, Thysse has proven himself to be a formidable opponent, and his sights are now set on international bouts.

The event was a memorable night for Joburg south boxing, featuring exciting matchups and the rise of boxers from the area.
