GALLERY: Excitement as Lusito Land Festival opens

With a full week of entertainment planned, the most delicious Portuguese food and drinks being served, it will be another great fund-raiser, solely for the Lusito Association School for Children with Disabilities.

THE Lusito Land Festival 2018 officially opened on Thursday evening (April 26) with Portuguese dignitaries, including Demetrio Sousa (chairman of the Lusito Association), Manuel Carvalho (Portuguese ambassador) and Bongani Baloyi (mayor of Midvaal), as well as other invited guests.

OPENING NIGHT: Manuel Carvalho, Portuguese ambassador.

Enjoy this cultural experience for the entire family with enjoyment for all ages from Portuguese folk dancing and top local artists, celebrated under an African sky. You can’t beat the heat, so get the carnival feeling and visit the Lusito Land Festival at 25 Cayman Road, Alewynspoort, in the South of Johannesburg.

The festival will take place until May 6 with a two-day break on May 2 and 3. Tickets are available from Computicket or at the entrance to the festival.
